In the initial 5 minutes of Scream we find the film is mostly based around a teenage audience, specifically around the female audience, as the main protagonist is female this would appeal most to them because they can relate more with her. The house doesn't look like the protagonist owns the house as it contains many expensive ornaments such as the dinner table, conservatory, it is also a very large house and because as an audience we don't believe that someone so young would own a house this large suggesting it is her parents house, which would also appeal to the teenage audience as they would probably have memories of beng left in the house on their own. The girl is wearing very fashionable clothes, which would also suggest that she is a teenager as they are commonly seen as wearing the latest clothes, she also would appear very wealthy as she is able to afford these clothes. The location is set in a large family house in the suburbs or countryside, as there aren't many houses around and according to the killer the police wouldn't be able to respond in time, this would make the audience very scared because they would be able to relate to the location as they would at sometime be in a similar situation of being on your own in a house, this also adds to the idea that she is very isolated, this adds to the suspence because she will have to solve this problem out on her own. The music in the scene begins about half way throught the clip as she becomes very worried about the man on the phone, piano music adds suspence because it is very high pitch noises and the use of it was very good in building up the suspence in the scene, the drum at the end builds a lot of tnesion into the scene and makes the audience adrenaline rush as they aren't sure what is going to happen.
